A strong, magnitude 7.8 earthquake rocked Nepal on 25 April 2015, destroying buildings, damaging historic temples, and killing thousands. After the main quake, 14 aftershocks were felt by local people with some strong enough to cause more damage. The earthquake is reported to have killed more than 9000 people and left more than 2000 injured. Team Radical Minds stepped in to help with supplies, food, and money to aid in the relief effort. All teams came forward to contribute in every possible manner, it was overwhelming to see the Human spirit come alive.
Our hearts go out to our armed forces and all those valiant heroes who were killed without a fight. As citizens this reply angers us and saddens us at the same time, however, it also worries us to think about the future of the family members of the martyrs. All team members at Radical Minds came together and contributed a day's salary and the company matched the collected amount with an equal contribution to extending support to all affected families. While this is a small contribution compared to what they would have lost, this small contribution to the family members of the martyrs would not have to give up on the dreams and aspirations they had set out for their loved ones.
We focus on improving the conditions by which girl child being raised in marginalised communities can access quality education. Education is an important tool that enables women and girls to participate in decisions that affect their lives and in improving their social status. Our team helps work with the school in providing books and free education for a select group of girls from the local communities. We hope to continue working on this initiative and keep adding more girls to this program. We will attempt at changing India, one girl at a time.
